Well, here we are—at the end of another DayCation. We left Sioux City in the dark, and now we arrive back home in the dark.
The bus always has a natural ebb and flow, just like the conversations inside. At times, it’s loud and giggly, full of anticipation for the day’s events. At other moments, it grows quiet, everyone resting and gathering energy for the activities ahead.
This year, I kept asking, “Are you ready for some football?” Each time, the bus answered with laughter and a cheerful yes!
When we arrived in Minneapolis, the sea of purple and yellow stretched before us. The stadium buzzed with excitement. The game was noisy, the food overpriced but delicious, and the laughter we shared was the best part of all. For a little while, we weren’t just ourselves—we were part of something bigger: a community of Vikings fans.
As the night wound down, many tired but happy faces stepped off the bus. I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the amazing team I’ve built—the staff who care deeply for the members we serve. Without hesitation, they scatter from the parking lot to make sure everyone gets home safe and sound.
A few of us stayed behind to clean out the buses, wanting Windstar to feel good about the organization that rented from them.
And now, I head home—ready for bed, and already dreaming of next year’s adventure.
