SIMPLE LIFE INC.

About the Event

This event invites you to engage in open conversation, explore empathy, and gain a better understanding. We are now making space for other community support by opening up our sponsorship opportunities.

Scheduled for May twenty second, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Design West, The Human Library Experience flips the script on traditional libraries. Instead of borrowing books, attendees can "check out" real stories – volunteers living with chronic mental illness who have bravely offered to share their personal stories and experiences. Upstairs at Design West, these "Human Books" will be seated at tables, ready for respectful, one-on-one conversations with visitors eager to listen and learn beyond labels.

The event is designed to create connections and break down the stigma often associated with mental health conditions. While the powerful conversations take place upstairs, the downstairs area will offer a welcoming atmosphere with live music performed by local artist Alex Erwin, food for guests, and opportunities to socialize.
